PS, APS appointed to ministers

The government has appointed personal secretaries (PS) for two ministers and assistant personal secretaries (APS) for five state ministers, according to separate notifications issued by Ministry of Public Administration on Monday.

Md. Moniruzzaman, OSD (Special officer-in-charge) and Deputy Secretary, has been appointed as PS to Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, which is headed by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. 

Rabindra Chakma, Secretary (Deputy Secretary) of Chittagong Development Authority, has been appointed PS to Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, under Minister Dipen Dewan.

For state ministers, Md. Ibrahim Khalil has been appointed APS to Ministry of Youth and Sports under State Minister Md. Aminul Haque. 

Md. Junaid has been appointed APS to Ministry of Commerce, Textiles and Jute and Industry, serving under State Minister Md. Shariful Alam. 

Md. Al Mamun has been appointed APS to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under State Minister M A Muhit. 

Md. Shariful Islam has been appointed APS to both Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and Ministry of Science and Technology, under State Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam. 

Additionally, Farhan Labib Zishan, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Cantonment Revenue Circle, has been appointed PS to Mahadi Amin, Adviser to the Prime Minister at state minister rank.

The APS appointments have been made according to preferences of the respective state ministers. 

All appointments are on a 9th-grade pay scale (Tk 22,000–53,060) under the Service (Pay & Allowances) Order, 2015. 

The appointments will remain in effect as long as the state ministers wish to retain the officers in their respective positions.
