Man held with Yaba pills in Barguna

Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested a suspected drug peddler along with Yaba pills from Patharghata upazila in Barguna district on Sunday.

The arrested was identified as Md Amir, 38, a resident of Iman Ali Road in Ward No 7 of Patharghata municipality.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB officials conducted a drive on a paved road in front of Anwar Hossain Government Primary School in the municipality and arrested Amir.

During the drive, the team searched Amir and recovered 100 pieces of Yaba pills from his possession and taken him into custody.

Confirming the incident, Patharghata police station sub-inspector (SI) Md Abul Kalam Azad filed a case against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act with Patharghata Police Station.

Further legal procedures are underway, added the official.
