EC to mark Nat'l Voters Day on March 2

The Election Commission (EC) will observe National Voters Day on March 2 2026, continuing the annual tradition, officials confirmed on Saturday.

EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed told BSS that the Cabinet Division has fixed March 2 as the official date for the observance. He added that the detailed programme for the day will be finalised tomorrow or the day after.

According to Ahmed, the commission is making all necessary preparations to ensure that National Voters Day is observed with due dignity, as in previous years.

The latest data from the Election Commission shows that Bangladesh currently has 127,711,793 registered voters. Of them, 64,825,361 are male, 62,885,200 are female, and 1,232 are registered as transgender voters.
