Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam on Sunday dismissed rumours claiming he had resigned, describing them as “baseless.”

Speculation had circulated that the police chief had stepped down, but Baharul clarified that the reports were untrue.

Official records show that Baharul assumed office on 21 November 2024, succeeding former IGP Md Moinul Islam.

He was appointed by the government as IGP on a two-year contractual basis.
