3, including woman, held with drugs in Savar

Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested three alleged drug peddlers, including a woman, along with drugs from Savar on Saturday afternoon.

The arrested are Md Billal, 32, a resident of Sanerhat village under Mithapukur upazila in Rangpur district, Fuljan, 45, a resident of Rajaghat area in Savar and Md Rashed, 29, from the same area.

Based on a tip-off, a team of police officials conducted a drive in Rajfulbaria Rajarghat area and arrested the trio red-handed while they were selling drugs.

Police also recovered 1.2 kg of hemp and 3 grams of heroin from their possessions.

Dhaka District North DB officer-in-charge (OC) Md Saiful Islam confirmed the incident through a press release on Thursday.

A case has been filed against the trio under the Narcotics Control Act with Savar Police Station and they were produced before a court on Sunday afternoon, added the OC.
