Elderly man dies in Gopalganj road mishap

An elderly man died in a road mishap in Gopalganj Sadar upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased, Machem Molla, 75, was a resident of Gopinathpur Sharifpara area in the upazila.

According to locals, the accident occurred in front of Gopinathpur Sharifpara Filling Station on the Dhaka-Khulna highway, when a brick-laden trolley ran over him, causing him serious injuries.

Later, locals rescued him and rushed him to Gopalganj Medical College and 
Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Sadar upazila’s Gopinathpur Investigation Center Inspector Mominul Islam confirmed the incident and assured to take necessary legal steps in this regard.
