UK pledges to work closely with Bangladesh

The United Kingdom (UK) has expressed its commitment to working closely with Bangladesh on shared priorities of economic growth, migration, climate and security.

A spokesperson at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of the UK government, said, ''We look forward to the new government advancing democratic, economic and social reforms.''

He added, they welcome the parliamentary elections in Bangladesh, which took place on February 12, and noted that the peaceful electoral process delivered conclusive results.

''This represents an important step forward in Bangladesh's ambitions and the aspirations of the people of Bangladesh.''

In a message on Friday, British High Commission in Dhaka, said, "We are keen to work together in the future to achieve shared goals such as economic growth, migration, climate change and security.''
