Dhaka University’s (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan met with Chief Adviser (CA) Dr Muhammad Yunus at the State Guest House Jamuna on Saturday evening.
The meeting took place as part of regular updates on university affairs and coincided with the farewell of the Chief Adviser at the conclusion of the interim government’s tenure.
During the meeting, Vice-Chancellor expressed his gratitude to the chief adviser for his unwavering support and cooperation over the past one and a half years.
He briefed Dr Yunus on recent initiatives taken to enhance education, research and student welfare at the university.
As a token of appreciation, Dr Khan presented a commemorative publication highlighting Dhaka University’s significant achievements, including its largest-ever development projects, to the Chief Adviser, as well as presented a portrait, artistically painted by Alaptagin Tushar, as a gesture of respect and admiration.
He also thanked CA for his personal dedication to the university, as well as his ongoing support for its academic, research and development activities.
Additionally, he wished him good health and a long life.
This meeting reflected the strong collaboration between the interim government and Dhaka University in promoting higher education and research in the country.
