Chief Adviser (CA) Muhammad Yunus on Saturday reached out by phone to senior political leaders across party lines, calling for continued cooperation to meet public expectations and sustain the country’s democratic momentum following the election.

According to the Chief Adviser’s press wing, Yunus held separate conversations with Tarique Rahman, Shafiqur Rahman and Nahid Islam.

In the discussions, he thanked them for what he described as responsible conduct during the post-election period and expressed confidence that political parties would maintain a constructive and cooperative approach going forward.

Yunus began by congratulating Tarique Rahman on the decisive victory of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, acknowledging the party’s role in helping keep the electoral atmosphere calm and celebratory.

He also conveyed appreciation to Shafiqur Rahman of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and to Nahid Islam of the Jatiya Nagorik Party for their contributions to ensuring a peaceful process.

During the calls, the Chief Adviser said the restraint shown by political actors across the spectrum made it possible to preserve a festive and orderly environment nationwide throughout the election period.

He urged all sides to continue working together so that the hopes and expectations of the people can be fulfilled in the next phase of democratic governance.
