The referendum recorded a clear majority in favour of “Yes” option, with 1,101,309 votes cast in support, while the “No” option received 524,835 votes in Bogura district.
A total of 301,729 ballots were declared invalid due to double marking, according to official figures released by the district election authorities.
In Bogura-1 (Sariakandi–Sonatala), out of 235,183 votes cast, 140,249 were in favour of “Yes” and 60,702 were for “No”.
In Bogura-2 (Shibganj), recorded 165,038 “Yes” votes and 51,790 “No” votes out of 248,175 ballots.
In Bogura-3 (Adamdighi–Dupchanchia), “Yes” secured 153,007 votes against 67,604 “No” votes from a total of 246,569.
Bogura-4 (Kahaloo–Nandigram) saw 175,643 “Yes” votes and 64,980 “No” votes among 274,339 ballots cast.
In Bogura-5 (Sherpur–Dhunat), the “Yes” option received 246,416 votes, while “No” gained 105,643 votes out of 408,274.
In Bogura-6 (Sadar), recorded 215,579 votes in favour and 80,203 against from a total of 322,130 ballots.
Meanwhile, in Bogura-7 (Gabtali–Shajahanpur), “Yes” obtained 251,793 votes, compared to 93,913 “No” votes out of 390,387 cast.
District Election Officer Fazlul Haque confirmed the figures, noting that the results include postal ballots and returns from all polling centres across the district.
