Suspicious explosive devices found near polling centre in Kushtia

Law enforcers recovered 10 bomb-like objects from a field near a polling centre in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia district on Wednesday.

The objects were found about 20 feet away from Baniakandi Government Primary School, which has been designated as a polling centre for the upcoming election.

According to locals, they first noticed two abandoned bags lying in the field and immediately informed police.

Being informed, members of the police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and the army rushed to the spot and recovered 10 bomb-like items wrapped with red adhesive tape from the two bags.

Confirming the incident, Kumarkhali Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Jamal Uddin said that the recovered objects were later taken to police station for further examination.
