The Election Commission (EC) has barred candidates, election agents, or supporters from using vehicles to transport voters to polling stations during the 13th parliamentary election and the concurrent referendum.

The EC issued the directive through a circular signed by Deputy Secretary Monir Hossain, instructing returning officers to ensure that no candidate or supporter violates the code of conduct or engages in voter influence activities. Officials have been warned to take necessary action if any law is breached.

The circular also forbids candidates or their supporters from setting up campaign posts within a 400-yard radius of polling stations. All posters, leaflets, and handbills must be removed before voting begins.

The EC has placed special emphasis on ballot box management. Only transparent ballot boxes will be used, with each polling station receiving one box and an additional box for backup.

Multiple boxes will not be allowed in a single polling station. District authorities have already dispatched the ballot boxes according to polling centres.

The 13th national parliamentary election and the referendum are scheduled to take place on Thursday, 12 February.
