Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Tuesday handed over a cheque of Tk 2 crore to Dhaka University (DU) as a grant to support the development of the university's Physical Education Centre ground.

BCB Director Nazmul Abedeen Fahim formally presented the cheque to DU Vice Chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan at a handover ceremony held at the National Sports Council (NSC) Conference Room.

The event was attended by Dr Asif Nazrul, Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, along with officials from the National Sports Council and the Dhaka University Central Students Union (DUCSU).

An agreement will be finalized soon through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the BCB and Dhaka University. Under the MoU, the BCB will be entitled to use the ground for a minimum of 100 days during the cricket season.
