Rajshahi University (RU) relieved one of its teachers from duties over sexual harassment allegations on Monday.

The accused, Associate Professor Dr Md Dulal Ali Mollah from the Department of Agronomy and Agricultural Extension, has been relieved from all academic and administrative responsibilities.

The decision was taken during the 546th meeting of the university syndicate, following allegations that Dr Mollah sexually harassed a student and subjected them to physical and mental abuse. The step aims to ensure a fair and impartial investigation into the matter.

RU Public Relations Administrator Professor Md Akhtar Hossain Majumdar confirmed the incident.
