DU gets Tk 2cr from BCB for playground dev

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Tuesday handed over a grant of Tk 2 crore to Dhaka University for the renovation and development of Physical Education Centre ground, aimed at enhancing sports facilities for students.

BCB Director Nazmul Abedeen Fahim formally presented the cheque to Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan at a ceremony held at National Sports Council (NSC) conference room.

Youth and Sports Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul was also present at the event.

Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Vice President Shadik Kayem received the donation on behalf of university authorities and students.

Officials from NSC and DUCSU were also in attendance.

According to officials, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be signed soon between BCB and Dhaka University.

Under the agreement, BCB will be permitted to use the ground for at least 100 days during the cricket season.
