Smuggled Yaba pills worth Tk 25cr seized in Cox’s Bazar

Bangladesh Navy has foiled a major drug smuggling attempt and seized Yaba pills worth an estimated Tk 25 crore from Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar district on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Navy officials conducted a drive between Chowdhury Para and Natmora Para points of Hnila union, took strategic positions and chased down the suspects, seizing several sacks filled with Yaba pills from the Naf River.

Navy officials seized 500,000 pieces of Yaba pills worth Tk 25 crore which were smuggled from Myanmar.

Bangladesh Navy officials confirmed the seizure and firmed its efforts to curb cross-border drug trafficking and ensure security along the coastal and riverine areas of Cox’s Bazar.
