Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar has criticised country’s long-standing political parties for failing the test of good governance, honesty and ethics over the past 54 years, urging voters to give a chance to new leadership.

Parwar said, “The people of Bangladesh now want a new Bangladesh. Those who have harmed the state through corruption, extortion, partisan administration and human rights violations can no longer be entrusted with the responsibility of running the country.”

He made the remarks while speaking at an election rally at Shiromoni Shaheed Minar premises under Khanjahan Ali police station in Khulna town on Monday afternoon.
Parwar accused the ruling parties of politicising the administration, looting state resources, sending wealth abroad and suppressing dissent. “There is no justification in giving repeated chances to those who have failed time and again,” he added.

He further pledged that if Jamaat-e-Islami comes to power, MPs and ministers would not exploit state privileges and the government would serve the people rather than rule over them. “We will work as servants of the people, not as rulers,” he said.

Highlighting his own development initiatives in his constituency, Parwar noted past improvements in roads, educational institutions, mosques, madrasas and healthcare facilities.

He promised that if re-elected, he would focus on flood mitigation, bridge construction, youth employment, expansion of technical education and hospital development.

Addressing allegations of mistreatment of minority communities, Parwar assured that religious freedom would be protected under Jamaat-e-Islami.

He cited examples of support for temple construction and religious festivals in Dumuria and Fultala, describing them as “shining examples of communal harmony.”

Parwar urged voters to cast their ballots confidently at polling stations, emphasising that a free and fair election with votes for the Daripalla symbol could help build a just and humanitarian Bangladesh.

The rally, presided over by Jamaat-e-Islami Amir of Khanjahan Ali police station area OrganiserSyed Hasan Mahmud Tito, also featured prominent speakers including DUCSU GS S M Farhad, NCP South Regional Deputy Organizer Dr Mahmuda Mitu and Khulna District Jamaat Amir Maulana Imran Hossain. Several local leaders, student representatives and community figures also addressed the gathering.
