Dhaka University's (DU) Kabi Jasimuddin Hall has become the first hall to install an app-based digital printer, an initiative by the hall parliament to help students print documents round the clock.
Digital printer was installed on Tuesday and inaugurated by hall provost Professor Dr Shaheen Khan alongside hall parliament leaders.
Residential teacher Bayezid Suman, Hall Parliament Vice President Muhammad Osman Gani, General Secretary Masum Abdullah, and Literary Secretary Abu Sufian attended the event.
Social Welfare Secretary Abdullah Al Maruf provided overall support for implementing the initiative.
Speaking at the inauguration, VP Muhammad Osman Gani said students often faced difficulties printing documents when shops were closed.
"We hope that with the installation of this digital printer, students will no longer have to suffer from such hassles," he said.
GS Masum Abdullah said the initiative aims to ease the process of printing various academic and job-related documents for students.
