BNP believes in work, not in criticism: Fakhrul

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday said BNP always believes in work, not in mere criticism.

"Today, a party has come before you. We have never seen them like this before. Now they have come to do politics and vie in elections.

They will definitely do elections, everyone has the right to do politics but please do not lie," he said.

The BNP secretary general made the remarks while speaking at a rally at Kismat Daulatpur Dakhil Madrasa and at Eidgah ground in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila.

He said they have been noticing in newspapers and social media that a party is using various bad words about women.
"You tell me, how can those who do not know how to respect and honour our mothers and sisters, who constitute half of the country, run the country," he asked.
Fakhrul blamed that a party is misleading mothers and sisters saying that if they vote for them, they will get heaven.
Fakhrul said if BNP is elected, then agro-based industries, factories, technical training for the youth, and employment for one crore youth will be arranged within one and a half years.

Mentioning that the fallen Awami League government filed 117 false cases against him, the BNP secretary general said he was in jail for three and a half years.

"Our leader Begum Khaleda Zia (late) served several years in jail. Some 20,000 leaders and activists have been killed.

The new (interim) government will hand over power to the elected government through fair elections, so ensure victory by voting for the 'sheaf of paddy' symbol on February 12," he said.

Fakhrul said if BNP comes to power, everyone will be given a family card and farmers will be given a farmer's card.

Farmers should be able to buy fertilizer, seeds, oil and agricultural products at a fair price, while farmers' loan up to Taka 10,000 will be waived, he said.

Also, he said, the government will take responsibility for the installments of NGO loans taken by women.

Local BNP leaders and general voters were present at the rally.
