Dhaka University’s (DU) Kabi Jasimuddin Hall has become the first hall to install an app-based digital printer, an initiative by the Hall Union to help students print documents round the clock.

Digital printer was installed on Tuesday and inaugurated by hall provost Professor Dr Shahin Khan alongside Hall Union leaders.

House tutor Bayezid Suman, Hall Union Vice President (VP) Muhammad Osman Gani, General Secretary (GS) Masum Abdullah and Literature Secretary Abu Sufian attended the event.

Social Service Secretary Abdullah Al Maruf provided overall support for implementing this initiative.

Speaking at the inauguration, VP Osman Gani said students often faced difficulties printing documents when shops were closed.
“We hope that with the installation of this digital printer, students will no longer have to suffer from such hassles,” he said.

GS Masum Abdullah said the initiative aims to ease the process of printing various academic and job-related documents for students.

“We want to work for students' welfare and to meet their expectations. As part of that commitment, this small initiative aims to ease the process,” he said.

Social Service Secretary Abdullah Al Maruf noted that printing shops usually close by 11 PM, leaving students unable to print assignments or urgent documents. “Considering this need, we have installed an app-based digital printer,” he said.

App-based system allows students to print jobs or study-related materials through a mobile application, addressing the long-standing issue of limited printing access during late hours at the university.
