Missing schoolboy found dead in Joypurhat

Police recovered the body of a missing schoolboy from a mustard field in the eastern Debipur area of Joypurhat Sadar upazila on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Taif Hasan, 16, son of late Tuhin Hossain, a resident of Kalupara village under Dhamoirhat upazila of Naogaon district. He was a Class X student at Jagdul Adibashi School and College.

According to sources, Taif had arrived in Joypurhat from Dhaka on Saturday with his mother but went missing shortly after, claiming he was going to drink water.

Later, locals spotted his body in a mustard field and informed police.

Being informed, police recovered the body from the spot.

Joypurhat Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Anisur Rahman confirmed the incident and said that the body has been sent to Joypurhat General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
