Tarique in Ctg to start polls campaign  today

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 24: Chairman Tarique Rahman is arriving in the port city, Chattogram on Sunday to begin his second election campaign following the launch of his campaign in Sylhet earlier.

Tarique Rahman will depart Dhaka for Chattogram on Saturday will stay overnight as part of his campaign schedule.

On Sundsay morning at 9:30 am, the BNP chairman will take part in a "Youth Policy Talk" at a hotel in Chattogram, where around 300 students from different universities will participate.

During the interaction, Tarique Rahman will exchange views on BNP's policy priorities, including education, employment, agriculture, health, women's empowerment and environmental issues. After the policy discussion, he will join an election rally at the Chattogram Polo Ground.

Tarique Rahman will also address election rallies at Feni Pilot School ground, Chauddagram High School ground in Cumilla, Digbaji playground in Sonagazi, Daudkandi Central Eidgah ground and Kanchpur Balur Math in Narayanganj.

The leaders from BNP's various affiliated and allied organisations will accompany the party chairman during the Chattogram tour, similar to his Sylhet visit.

On January 22, Tarique Rahman formally launched his election campaign from the Govt. Aliya Madrasah ground in Sylhet.

Meanwhile, the Port city is in a festive mode ahead of the arrival of the BNP Chairman.

In this connection, all the units of BNP and its sister organisations have been taking preparations regularly to make the rally a success with a huge number of attendance.

BNP's Chattogram city, north, and south district units have already started holding meetings every day in order to assemble huge numbers of public.

In addition, a high-level meeting involving party candidates from all 16 parliamentary constituencies in Chattogram has been convened recently at the residence of BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.

All the units have already conducted meetings with the Metropolitan BNP's convening committee which was followed by an extended meeting and further preparatory sessions at the Thana and ward levels.

This visit marks Tarique's first return to Chattogram in over two decades.
BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said that the meeting would be a historic one with the attendance of the record number of people.

He was addressing a preparatory meeting of the rally held at his residence on Monday.
He said, Tarique Rahman will arrive Chattogram on January 24 and he will stay in Chattogram in the night.

Tarique Rahman will address the rally at the Pologround at 11 in the morning on January 25.
The meeting was attended by all candidates of BNP in all 16 constituencies of Chattogram. The BNP nominated candidates vowed to bring people from their own constituencies to make the rally a success.
