Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam has instructed all Bangladesh Police personnel to uphold strict neutrality while performing their duties during the upcoming 13th parliamentary election.

Addressing a pre-election meeting at Civic Centre of Chattogram District Police Lines on Saturday, the IGP emphasized that police must act with caution, patience, and professionalism to ensure the elections are conducted freely, fairly and peacefully.

“Police members must carry out their responsibilities diligently to maintain law and order, and to safeguard the lives and property of citizens,” he said.

Baharul Alam also highlighted the importance of delivering accessible and efficient services directly to the public to strengthen people-friendly policing.

He stressed that the use of body-worn cameras should be ensured during duty hours to enhance transparency, accountability and public trust in the force.
