3 held in Ctg over RAB official murder in Jungle Salimpur

Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the killing of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) member Abdul Motaleb during an operation in Jungle Salimpur area under Chattogram’s Sitakunda upazila.

A case was filed shortly after midnight on Wednesday by a RAB-7 official of deputy assistant director (DAD) rank at Sitakunda Police Station, naming 29 individuals along with 150 to 200 unidentified suspects. Yasin has been identified as the prime suspect in the case.

Sitakunda Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohinul Islam said that two of the arrested individuals were named in the FIR, while one was taken into custody on suspicion.
Abdul Motaleb, who served as a deputy assistant director of RAB-7, was killed when local criminals attacked a RAB team during an operation on Monday evening. Three other RAB personnel sustained injuries in the assault.

Police are continuing investigations to apprehend the remaining suspects and bring those responsible to justice.
