Sheikh Rakibul Karim has been appointed as the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Guardian Life Insurance Limited.
He formally assumed the charge after receiving the approval of the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) on January 20, said a company handout on Wednesday.
He previously served as Additional Managing Director and Acting Chief Executive Officer of the company. The Board of Directors assigned this responsibility to Sheikh Rakibul Karim in recognition of his contribution to its business growth, good governance and formulation of customer-centric strategy.
Sheikh Rakibul Karim joined Guardian Life Insurance Limited as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 2019.
Later, he held various top leadership positions in the company, including the Acting Chief Executive Officer.
During his tenure, Guardian's compliance and corporate governance were further strengthened.
He digitalized the way the company works and customer service. Before joining Guardian, he served as Director, Audit and Advisory Services, KPMG Bangladesh.
