Dear Sir,
As winter sets in, countless migratory birds fly thousands of miles from distant Siberia and the foothills of the Himalayas to Bangladesh. Our beels, haors, and water bodies come alive with their chirping, turning nature into a vibrant sanctuary. Sadly, this beauty is being destroyed by a group of unscrupulous hunters who mercilessly kill these helpless birds using poison bait, nets, and other deadly traps.
Hunting migratory birds is not only cruel but also a serious threat to our environment. These birds play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance by controlling harmful insects, protecting crops, and enriching soil fertility through their droppings. Continuous hunting has already pushed many bird species to the brink of extinction, causing irreparable damage to our biodiversity.
Although bird hunting is prohibited by law in Bangladesh, weak enforcement and lack of public awareness allow this practice to continue, especially in remote areas. Birds symbolize freedom and the beauty of nature. Let us pledge to protect them by creating safe sanctuaries and discouraging hunting. Protecting migratory birds is essential to preserving the balance of nature.
