3 ‘robbers’ held with looted goods in Munshiganj

Police arrested three robbers along with looted goods from different locations in capital’s and other places on Tuesday night, following a robbery and looting incident in Munshiganj’s Sreenagar upazila.

The arrested were identified as Md Rajib Bepari, 30, from Sholaghar area under Sreenagar upazila, Md Habib, 38, from Bhuiya Para in Kishoreganj’s Itna upazila and Md Sujon, 36, from Khejurtala area under Shariatpur’s Naria upazila.

According to police sources, earlier on the night of November 19 last year, a gang of robbers broke into three shops in Birtara Bazar in the upazila and looted valuables.

Later, a formal robbery case was filed with Sreenagar Police Station over the incident.

Following the investigation, police identified and arrested these three individuals in connection with the case and recovered a pickup van used in the robbery and other looted items from their possessions.

Sreenagar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Milton Dutta confirmed the detention and said that the arrested will be produced before the Munshiganj court for further legal action.
