76,580 BD pilgrims registered for Hajj

A total of 76,580 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims so far have completed registration for the Hajj-2026 against the total 78,500 expected Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims, official said.

"A total of 76,580 people including 72,344 under private management while 4,260 of government management have so far registered to perform Hajj in 2026 according to the Saudi government's Hajj roadmap," he said.

Talking to BSS, senior information officer of Ministry of Religious Affairs Md Abu Bakor Siddik said that apart from the general pilgrims, medical team, Hajj guide, administrative team, technical team and others will also visit Saudi Arabia to assist the Hajis (Pilgrims).

"The ministry sends a list of those people to the Saudi authority for approval," he said.

According to the Hajj Office, 72,344 Bangladeshi nationals will perform the Hajj under the private management and 4,565 people under the government management this year.

The Saudi government's roadmap is that the pilgrims will have to complete the final registration on October,16 2025. The government opened the registration for the 2026 Hajj on July 27, 2025.

The religious affairs ministry asked Hajj agencies and airlines strictly follow the Saudi government instructions over pilgrimage management as the first aircraft carrying pilgrims to fly on April 18.

"The ministry on January 11 sent a letter to the Hajj agencies and the three airlines, engaged for pilgrimage management and transport with specific directives," a ministry spokesman said. "BSS
