Evaly's Russell, Shamima arrested

Detective Branch of police have arrested e-commerce company Evaly Managing Director Mohammad Russell and Chairperson Shamima Nasrin again from Dhanmondi area.

Police said the couple have been warranted in 391 cases.

A team of DB conducted a drive in the Dhanmondi area on Monday night and arrested them, said Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman.

According to the DB sources, arrest warrants have been issued against Russell and Shamima around 300 cases filed with Dhanmondi, Kafrul and Savar police stations.

The Evaly executives were earlier arrested on September 16, 2021, on charges of fraud and embezzlement. Shamima Nasrin was released on bail in April 2022, while Mohammad Rassel secured bail in December the same year.
