2 held with huge hemp in Gopalganj

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) arrested two drug peddlers along with a large quantity of hemp from Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj district on Monday night.

The arrested were identified as Nurul Alam, 41 and Abu Taher, 44.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB officials from Bhatiapara Camp conducted a drive around 7:45 PM at Majhigati bus stand on the Joynagar–Byaspur road and arrested the duo along with 42.5 kg of hemp.
RAB also seized a microbus used for transporting the drugs from the spot.

A case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act with Kashiani Police Station, and the arrested have been handed over to police for further legal procedures, added an official.
