3 held with hemp in B’baria

Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested three suspected drug peddlers along with hemp from Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila on Monday morning.

The arrested have been identified as Khairul Islam, 28, Nayeem, 21 and Md Atikul Islam, 18, residents of Paraill area under Kotwali Police Station area in Mymensingh district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB officials conducted a drive around 10:00 AM in Ujanisar area of Basudeb union under Sadar Police Station area and arrested the trio along with 5.5 kg of hemp from their possessions.
A DB official confirmed the incident and said that further legal action against the accused is underway.
