Police have recovered the body of a woman with her throat slit from a rented house in the Kalachandpur area of Dhaka's Gulshan Thana.

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Sadia Akhtar Mimi, who worked as a dancer at a restaurant and bar, police say.

She also had a beauty parlour business. Law enforcers believe the murder occurred between Friday afternoon and 9pm on Saturday. The body was recovered late on Saturday night and sent to the Dhaka Medical College morgue on Sunday afternoon.

Sub-Inspect Maruf Ahmed of Gulshan Police Station said the body was recovered after it was reported at the house in the Paschim Para area.
