Cox’s Bazar: Police have recovered the body of a man named Abdur Rahim, 50, who was shot dead in a Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf.

The body was recovered from the Bikash More area of the Nayapara registered camp in Hnila Union of Teknaf Upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased is the son of Habibur Rahman, a resident of Nayapara, Ward No. 7 of Hnila Union of Teknaf.
Police said that Abdur Rahim is a known robber. There are several cases against him on various charges, including robbery.

16 APBN Police's Nayapara Camp In-charge (Inspector) Sushanta Kumar Sarkar confirmed the matter. He said that locals reported the body of a person lying on the side of the road in the Bikash More area of the camp on Tuesday morning. Later, a police team went to the spot and recovered the body with bullet wounds.

Citing locals, he said that the locals heard multiple gunshots in the Nayapara camp area on Monday midnight. While going to Fajr prayers in the morning, they saw a body of a person lying in a pool of blood in the Bikash More area of the Nayapara camp and informed the police.

Referring to the initial assumption of the police that the murder could have been committed due to an internal conflict or a struggle for dominance within the gang, Sushant Sarkar said that the police are investigating to uncover the real cause of the incident.
