CHATMOHAR, PABNA, Jan 8: A man named Sabur Talukdar, 40, has committed suicide due to pressure from a loan-related case. He was the son of Kuran Talukdar from Mathurapur Village.
On Tuesday afternoon, police recovered his body hanging from a tree with a rope around his neck in a garden next to his house.
He further added that Sabur had taken Tk 50,000 from his brother-in-law in Arankola of Ishwardi Upazila, for his younger daughter's son-in-law with interest. Later, with accrued interest, the amount rose to nearly Tk 3 lakh. A case was filed when he could not repay the money, in which Sabur was made the 5th accused. He was deeply distressed over this matter.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chatmohar Police Station Golam Sarwar Hossain confirmed the incident and said the matter will be investigated and legal action taken.
