17 NBR commissioners transferred in one go

The government has transferred 17 commissioners of National Board of Revenue (NBR) in a single move.

According to a notification issued on Tuesday and signed by Mohammad Abul Mansur, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Customs and VAT Administration-1 wing of the NBR, the transfers were made with the approval of the appropriate authorities.

A press release issued on Wednesday evening said the order was issued in the public interest and will take effect immediately, with approval routed through the Election Commission Secretariat of Bangladesh Election Commission.
The notification explained that the transfers were carried out to facilitate postings to newly created offices and inter-departmental adjustments of officials and employees working under various Customs and VAT divisions of NBR.

The transferred officers have been instructed to send copies of their joining letters to Customs and VAT Administration-1 Branch of the NBR upon assuming their new assignments.
