AG to resign, contest polls with BNP ticket

Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman on Wednesday announced that he would resign from the post of attorney general on December 27.

He shared the information while talking to reporters at his office on Wednesday.

Earlier, on December 20, the Attorney General announced that he would step down from his post and contest the upcoming 13th parliamentary election from the Jhenaidah-1 (Shailkupa) constituency on a BNP ticket.
Subsequently, on December 23, BNP leaders from Shailkupa upazila collected the nomination papers on behalf of Md Asaduzzaman.

Previously, he had also contested the 2018 national parliamentary election from the same constituency as a BNP candidate with the party's symbol.

Senior Supreme Court lawyer Md Asaduzzaman was appointed Attorney General on August 8 last year.
