Jatiyatabadi Muktijuddher Prajanma committee formed

The Jatiyatabadi Mukti-juddher Prajanma has announced a 151-member Central Convening Committee on Friday (December 19). 

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has been named as the member one number of the committee, while the second member is the late Arafat Rahman Koko. So far, 101 members have been partially announced.

According to a press release signed by Bir Muktijoddha Ishtiaq Aziz Ulfat, President of the Jatiyatabadi Muktijuddher Prajanma Central Committee, the convening committee was announced with the permission of Mr. Tarique Rahman, Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Liberation War. 

At the same time, all previously announced district and metropolitan committees have been dissolved.

The press release also said that all leaders and activists of the Jatiyatabadi Muktijuddher Prajanma have been instructed to actively take part in activities for the upcoming national parliamentary elections, in coordination with the district and metropolitan presidents and general secretaries of the Muktijoddha Dal.

Earlier, on November 24, 2025, a 101-member Central Convening Committee of the Jatiyatabadi Muktijuddher Prajanma was announced. Engineer Ishraque Hossain, BNP leader and party MP candidate from the Dhaka-6 constituency, was named as the convener, and Advocate KM Kamruzzaman Nannu was named as the member secretary.

Convener Ishraque Hossain said that at this critical time, a group is trying to undermine the great Liberation War for political gain. He said the Nationalist Liberation War Generation will work firmly to present the true history of the birth of the nation to the new generation and will resist all political and social attempts to distort history.

He further said that Martyr President Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam, father of Tarique Rahman and Arafat Rahman, declared the country's independence at the risk of his own life and the lives of his family members and led the struggle on the battlefield. He also said that his own father, brave freedom fighter Sadeq Hossain Khoka, sacrificed his life and helped liberate the country by driving out the powerful Pakistani army.

Ishraque Hossain added that the Nationalist Liberation War Generation will work tirelessly to ensure proper recognition and honor for all martyred freedom fighters and living freedom fighters.

Meanwhile, Member Secretary Advocate KM Kamruzzaman Nannu said the new convening committee will speed up the organization's future activities. 

He said the committee will play an important role in organizing the Liberation War generation, strengthening the organization, and spreading the party's principles and ideals among the younger generation.
