Moving passenger bus torched in capital’s Badda

A moving passenger bus was torched in Gudaraghat area of the capital’s Badda on Friday evening.

Confirming the incident, Fire Service Duty Officer Mohammad Shahjahan Hossain said that a fire broke out around 7:45 PM and two units from Baridhara Fire Service Station were immediately dispatched to the scene, but the blaze was doused before their arrival.

The officer also said the cause of the fire and whether there were passengers on board could not be confirmed immediately.

Badda Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Yasin Gazi said that no casualties have been reported so far.

He also added that a person appearing as a passenger set the bus on fire and exited from it. Authorities are currently trying to apprehend him.
