Jatiya Nagarik Party (NCP) South Region Chief Organiser Hasnat Abdullah and Senior Joint Member-Secretary Dr Tasnim Jara rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) to see Sharif Osman Hadi on Friday afternoon.
Earlier on Friday noon, Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson for Inquilab Mancha and candidate for Dhaka-8 in the upcoming 13th national election, was shot by unidentified assailants.
The critically injured Hadi has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital.
NCP Chief Coordinator Nasir Uddin Patwary condemned the attack in strong terms, warning that the lives of party members are also at risk.
He also added that despite the threats, they remain committed to their struggle, even if it means putting their lives on the line.
Hadi had earlier reported receiving threats from around 30 domestic and international phone numbers.
In a Facebook post on November 14, he said he had been threatened with murder, arson attacks on his home and sexual violence against his mother, sister and wife.
