No power can thwart Feb 12 polls: Shafiqul Alam

No force in the world can thwart the February 12 parliamentary election, said Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Friday.

While speaking to reporters in Shariatpur, he said, ''The people of the country are eagerly awaiting for the elections. Those who try to take the law into their hands and try to create anarchy, will be strictly suppressed.''

''Besides, those who try to sabotage the elections with immoral demands, will also be suppressed by the government.''

While asking about the participation of the Awami League, Shafiqul Alam responded, ''Those who belong to the fallen autocrat's party, have withdrawn themselves from the polls.''
