Smuggled sarees seized in Kurigram

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB-15) seized smuggled Indian sarees from Purbo Bhothat area in Bhurungamari upazila of Kurigram district on Wednesday night.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB officials conducted a raid in the area and seized 272 pieces of smuggled Swarna Katan sarees worth Tk 27.20 lakh from the spot.

BGB-15 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mehedi Imam confirmed the incident through a press briefing on Thursday afternoon and said that BGB is always ready to reduce cross-border smuggling to zero.
