Asif Mahmud calls urgent press conference for Wednesday

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan has called an urgent press conference for Wednesday to speak on contemporary political issues.

The briefing will be held at 3 PM at the conference room of Local Government Division at the Secretariat, according to information shared at an LGRD ministry event on Tuesday evening.

Although the programme announcement did not specify the exact topics, officials said the adviser is expected to address ongoing discussions and recent developments.
In recent days, speculation has grown over which political party Asif Mahmud may join ahead of the upcoming national election and whether he will resign from his advisory post before announcing his candidacy.

Sources at the adviser’s office said he may speak on these matters during Wednesday’s press conference.
