DU observes Begum Rokeya Day

Dhaka University (DU) observed Begum Rokeya Day on Tuesday to honour the life and contributions of the renowned social reformer and educationist.

The ceremony took place at the Rokeya Hall premises, where Treasurer Professor Dr M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury laid a floral wreath at the statue of Begum Rokeya.

Rokeya Hall Provost Professor Dr Hosne Ara Begum, house tutors and Hall Union leaders were present at the event.
Speaking at the ceremony, Treasurer Dr Chowdhury paid tribute to Begum Rokeya, highlighting her lifelong dedication to improving the lives of underprivileged women.

He urged everyone to follow her ideals and work towards building a discrimination-free and equitable society.
