Three dengue patients have died and 421 new infections have been reported across the country in the past 24 hours, health authorities said on Tuesday.
“We recorded three dengue-related deaths in the 24 hours ending at 8 AM on Tuesday,” a spokesperson of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
During the same period, 421 new patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue symptoms, he added.
DGHS data shows that one of the deaths occurred in Barishal division, while two were reported under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
Of the newly diagnosed patients, 64 were admitted in Barishal division, 63 in Chattogram, 73 in Dhaka division outside the capital, 72 under DSCC and 75 under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
Additionally, 30 cases were reported in Khulna division, 31 in Mymensingh, 12 in Rajshahi, and one in Rangpur, according to a DGHS statement.
Since the beginning of this year’s outbreak, the country has recorded 401 deaths and 98,705 dengue cases.
Last year, the mosquito-borne disease claimed 575 lives and infected 101,214 people across the country.
