Bangladesh LDP (BLDP) Chairman Shahadat Hossain Selim, along with party leaders and activists, officially joined the BNP on Monday afternoon.
The ceremony was held at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan, Dhaka, with senior leaders, including BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, in attendance.
At the event, the BNP announced that Selim will be nominated for the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, contesting from the Lakshmipur-1 constituency, where he has already been actively campaigning.
Speaking at the ceremony, Selim described the move as "returning home." He said he had been active in BNP politics for years, starting with Chhatra Dal and later working in Chittagong and Ramganj under party guidance.
