JASHORE, Dec 7: A youth was stabbed to death near Ansar Camp in Bejpara of Jashore town on Saturday midnight.
The deceased was identified as Tanvir, 22, son of Mintu, a resident of Shankarpur Hazarigat area. According to locals, Tanvir was found bleeding near the camp at 12:55 am. Later, locals rushed him to Jashore General Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Confirming the incident, Kotwali Model Police Inspector (Investigation) Kazi Babul Hossain said that Tanvir was stabbed past midnight and a rickshaw driver took him to the hospital.
Investigation into the murder is ongoing, said police.
Police said they recovered 61 pieces of Yaba pills from his pocket.
Earlier on Saturday evening, a joint team conducted an operation at Shankarpur Beler Maidan and detained two youths along with five bombs and a knife.
