Dear sir,
Young people today are not abandoning politics because they are careless or lazy. They are stepping back because, for many of them, politics has become a place of disappointment rather than hope. Streets are busy, days move fast, but the voice of youth is missing from public life. What once felt like a calling now feels like a closed door. Instead of seeing politics as a way to shape the country, many now see it as a risky space where speaking up brings more trouble than change.
Fear also keeps many away. Political violence has taught families to warn their children to stay quiet, not stand out. Unemployment has left young people tired and focused only on staying afloat. Many follow the news but do not dare to join the crowd because they believe their voices will not be heard.
If this gap is to close, politics must become honest and welcoming again. Young people need safety, jobs, and respect.
