Bangladesh recorded five new dengue-related deaths in the 24 hours leading up to Wednesday morning, bringing this year’s total fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease to 396, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The latest deaths were reported from Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Mymensingh Division, DGHS said in its daily update.
During the same period, 490 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country.
With these cases, the total number of confirmed infections in 2025 has risen to 96,067.
Dengue claimed 575 lives last year, when the country recorded 101,214 cases and 100,040 recoveries, DGHS data shows.
