BB to introduce new Tk 500 banknote on Thursday

Bangladesh Bank (BB) will issue a new Tk 500 banknote from its ‘Historical and Archaeological Architecture of Bangladesh’ series on Thursday.

The new note, featuring the signature of Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur, is part of a series that will eventually cover all denominations.

Bangladesh Bank has already circulated new Tk 1,000, Tk 100, Tk 50 and Tk 20 notes from this series.
The Tk 500 note will first be issued from the central bank’s Motijheel office on December 4, before being distributed through other branch offices nationwide.

The new note incorporates a contemporary design and enhanced security features to ensure authenticity and prevent counterfeiting.
