Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has expressed his deep condolences to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto over the recent floods that claimed lives and caused widespread damage in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra provinces.
In a message sent on Monday, Prof Yunus wrote, “I have learnt with grave concern about the recent floods in Aceh, North and West Sumatra provinces of Indonesia, which have taken so many precious lives and caused widespread destruction.”
The message was released by the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing on Tuesday.
“On behalf of the Government and the people of Bangladesh, I would like to extend my deepest condolences and sympathy to the Government and the friendly people of Indonesia during this difficult time,” Prof Yunus added. “Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this disaster.”
He also affirmed Bangladesh’s readiness to provide all possible support and assistance for a swift recovery, concluding the message with assurances of his highest consideration.
